The theme for this year’s expo is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, and it aims to explore issues around agriculture, sustainable development and energy conservation, with participating countries showcasing their solutions. It’s a huge event, featuring 145 participating countries and expecting around 20 million visitors over the course of its six month run. Milan Expo 2015 kicked off on 1 May, with a lavish opening ceremony that featured a performance by Andrea Bocelli and a video link with the Pope.
